About this Blend

In 2020, Dr. Shelton commissioned a special distillation of Fraser Fir by an artisan distiller.  It took many months of distillation, as well as many months to age the newly distilled oil to perfection.  The result was pure, gorgeous, evergreen scent – that when combined with other essential oils just magnified the delicious nature of the blend.

Fir, Spruce and other “tree” oils are well known for their support of bones as well as the lungs and respiratory system.  By combining Fraser Fir, Balsam Fir, and Black Spruce with Bitter Orange, Coriander, Juniper, Frankincense, and Cabreuva – so many additional properties were added.

Bitter Orange has been said to reduce stress and anxiety, is beneficial for skin issues, relieves an upset stomach, enhances and stimulates proper digestion, as well as being an awesome scent for in the home.

Coriander is detoxifying and antifungal, it is good for relaxation, and is also soothing to the skin.

Juniper is known to support kidney function, but is also excellent to support sore throats, respiratory conditions, fatigue, and muscle and bone issues.

Frankincense likely needs little introduction – it is well known as one of the most popular anti-tumoral essential oils – but it is way more than that.  Frankincense is wonderful for the skin, has anti-inflammatory properties, supports the immune system, and is reported to be anti-aging in nature along with many other benefits.

Cabreuva is a lesser used essential oil that I have fallen in love with.  It is mild and pleasant, making it wonderful for all species of animals, and it tends to enhance the power, benefits, and penetration of other oils.  It is reported to relieve stress and tension, while it is grounding and supportive of the spleen.

The blend is named Forever Elmer after the very special mule mentioned above.  Elmer required an emergency surgery for an abdominal hernia, and while the surgery itself went well, Elmer did not wake up from anesthesia.  We feel Elmer’s presence in everything we do.  He is a guardian of the Sanctuary – ever present, like an evergreen.  This blend captures the beautiful essence that we felt during Elmer’s life with us, and even now after his passing.

For me the darkness of winter, the cold weather, and the holiday bustle can be stressful and tiring.  This blend feels comforting, stabilizing, as well as energizing.  I just feel stronger in its presence.  I hope you will love Forever Elmer as much as I do.
