Description

Myrrh and Myrtle essential oils are typically used to support proper balance of the Thyroid. Combining these oils with Frankincense and Copaiba, we gain magnifying properties while also obtaining the anti-tumoral and anti-inflammatory properties. Helichrysum provides a large amount of healing and support. And Catnip is again added in small quantities to aid in attracting cats to the litter box.

The easy and artful way to expose your feline friends to essential oils!

I developed this technique after observing my outdoor cats using pine needles as their “litter box.”  I began to realize all of the wonderful ways that animals would naturally expose themselves to essential oils in the “wild,” and Litteroma was born.  Litteroma is possibly one of the easiest methods in which to expose cats to the health benefits of essential oils.  It not only replaces the toxic fragrances found in commercial kitty litter, but offers a way to provide preventive and continued health benefits from essential oils on a regular basis.

Start with unscented kitty litter – staying within the same brand that you currently use is often advisable.  Add 1-3 drops of your chosen animalEO essential oil single or blend to 1 cup of baking soda – store this mixture within a glass jar, and allow it to “marinade” and blend overnight, shaking the mixture several times.  Later, you may find you can add more essential oil drops to this recipe.  Starting with a small portion (maybe 1 Tablespoon) – sprinkle the baking soda mixture onto your kitty litter.  Mix well.  Provide a separate litter box that does not contain essential oils, to make sure that your cat does not have an aversion to the essential oil that was selected.  Once you are sure your cat is using the litter box with your oil selection and concentration, you can then omit the use of the “plain” litter box.  Each time you scoop, you can sprinkle a bit more Litteroma into your box to freshen it up!

Litteroma for Future Health

Wouldn’t it be great if your Kitty Litter promoted health and could possibly help to prevent future illness?  I think it is possible!  In my veterinary experience, I definitely believe that I see litter box avoidance and chronic health issues arise from the chemical fragrances, odor eliminators, and clumping mechanisms contained in today’s litter products.  Wouldn’t it be amazing to avoid these harmful substances, while getting benefits?

With Litteroma – I feel that we can create a healthier litter.  Removing things that are sure to be detrimental, and replacing them with items that likely have beneficial health properties!

While Litteroma AllCat is wonderful for supporting all cats in health – the various formulas can provide a little extra support for a variety of body systems.  If your cat has a Liver condition, certainly selecting Litteroma LiverCat – and using it all year round might be a wonderful suggestion for you.  However, even “normal” cats and kittens can benefit from the occasional use of Litteroma LiverCat.

As preventive maintenance, I love to occasionally rotate through which Litteroma formula I use.  I may make up one batch of AllCat and use in all of my boxes until it is gone, then move to LiverCat in all of my boxes.  Or I might make up several formulas (LiverCat, KidneyCat, and ThyroidCat for example) and add a different one to several different boxes.  In this way, my cats can also select which box they “enjoy” more – which I feel may sometimes tip me off to early detection of problems.  If I have one cat that seems to always use the “Thyroid supporting box” – I might actually decide to perform Thyroid monitoring blood work on a more regular basis, or earlier than my regular scheduled check.  It could just be that the cat likes that combination of essential oils better, or that they like that box location.  But, to me it never hurts to run more blood work (except for the poke!).  Normal blood work to me is rewarding and exciting – even if a bit on the boring side.  But, it means that we are healthy and heading down the right path.  Never something for me to be disappointed in spending money on!

Litteroma for your Diffuser!
